Dan1113 Posted January 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) Being an early planner, I was having a wee nosy at new year cruises, and I am surprised they nearly all leave on 26 December. Seems like a silly date - I'd like to be home with family for Christmas, which gives me no time to actually get to the departure port on the 26th. The 27th or 28th would make much more sense to me! I noticed the same with Celebrity. Was hoping to try Norwegian or Celebrity for the first time, but I guess it'll be a no go! murfette Posted January 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Most if not all cruise lines follow a Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday sailing on 1 week cruises Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Dan1113 Posted January 17, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Oh right - so should I expect this from other companies when their dates come up, too? The NY we are doing this time around is with RC and leaves on the 28th, which is a Monday - perfect for us. Hoping they might be the same with other itineraries for the next year. garycarla Posted January 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Most ships leave on Sat or Sun. They can not just change the schedule on week. Just the way it is.
cruise pup Posted January 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Actually this makes perfect sense since they market a Christmas cruise and a New Years cruise.
