Whether you will need a wet suit or not will depend on your individual tolerance to cold. For me, I need a 3mm full wetsuit for that temp, but then again, I'm kind of slender and get cold easily. The lowest the water temp will go is about 78 in Jan thru Feb, with the high about 85 in August. We went snorkeling this past Jan and the water was in the high 70's and it seemed fine to me.
