Adele1 Posted January 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2015 Every time I go across in a cab there is a long line to get across to 12th avenue to go up the ramp to the ship. Has anyone gotten out of a cab on 12th Avenue where the cab stand is and tried to enter the port & find the elevator to the port handlers who take the bags this way? thanks for any input. Yes... every time! I go to 48th and 12th Ave and walk across at the crosswalk there and hand over our bags to the porters right there. Then take the elevator up and all is good :) When we used to live in CT that was our preferred method of getting to the port from Grand Central! zubee23 Posted January 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2015 That's how we do it! Easy breezy! I hate being in the cab, watching the meter keep going up, when I'm just sitting in traffic approaching the ship. When we've done a one or two night CTN, we've take the M42 bus from Grand Central Station to Circle Line and walked a few blocks to the ship! We cab it from Grand Central Station when we're going on a longer cruise. We're lucky we can leave the car home and take Metro North to NYC.
