Reflection review - Western Caribbean

We just got off the Reflection and so far, of our 6 cruises (3 on celebrity), that was our favorite cruise and the reflection our favorite ship. Here's a quick review and if anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer them if I can.

We heard from several people that boarding for them was a nightmare. We arrived at the port around 11:30 and were on board by 1:00. I expected to wait considering we arrived at the port so early but we had to check out of the eden roc by 11:00 so we decided to head straight to the ship. We had 1A cabin 9270 just before the hump. We had the same cabin before on the Eclipse and really liked the location. Our steward was great and once again we were very happy with the stateroom. We had early dinning times and loved the food and service. We had requested a large table and on the first night were seated at a table for 2 so we spike to the maître d and he was able to move us after that. We absolutely loved our new table mates and even cancelled reservations we had made for the final night at the Tuscan grille so that we could eat with them again! We did eat lunch at the lawn club grille one day and that was excellent. In Cozumel we did the push, pull and swim with dolphins and had a great time. In grand cayman we booked a private excursion jetski tour to stingray city and rum pointe beach and that was amazing. In ocho rios we did the chukka ATV tour and once again loved it and in labadee we just rented standup paddle boards and had a beach day. Some highlights were the molecular bar, especially the Kentucky derby they make there, and the cruise director (Alexander) was a lot of fun! I liked him a lot better than Lisa who was the cruise director on the eclipse on our last celebrity cruise. Here are some shots of the view from 9270, and me and my wife in front of the ship, ImageUploadedByForums1422120242.809330.jpg.be6026b58faf6d79394da8242da6f80a.jpg

Thanks for this! I'd love to hear as many details as you have and to see more pictures!! We are doing this trip in March. How was the entertainment? Did you have the drink package? Did you upgrade? Do you have a good poolside drink recommendation? Thanks for the Molecular Bar rec!

The entertainment was alright. There were two comedians (Steven Scott and Kivi Rogers) and both were great! We only saw one of the production shows (the first), and thought it was boring, however people we spoke to that had seen all three said the second two were much better, the final one in particular, which I was told was a cirque du soleil type of show. There was also another guest entertainer who we missed. As for the other onboard entertainment- we thought 5 o'clock somewhere and Xtasea were really good. The jazz band was good, but not my cup of tea and there was a guitarist, Sean Roach, who was just ok. Big Mike, a pianist, and also part of the Reflection band, was great. I'd definitely check him out if you get a chance! As for drink packages- we upgraded on the first day and I'm glad we did. It was well worth it for us because we never had to worry about what was included and what wasn't, and my wife drank a lot of champagne on the cruise and Chandon was included, which she liked. My poolside recommendation would be the tequila tropicale. It was very tasty, and even though we hardly spent any time by the pool I frequently swung by the pool bar just to get 1 (or more) tequila tropicales! And the molecular bar was our spot for pre-dinner cocktails (nothing at the molecular bar is included in the classic package from what I was told). I will try to post more pics later. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. You will have a blast on the Reflection! We loved the Eclipse and I was a little worried that the Reflection may seem crowded, but at no point did it seem crowded to us.

Thanks for the review. We are considering Reflection Western Caribbean for Feb 2016 for our first Caribbean cruise and good to hear you loved it. Did you use the solarium pool at all , and if so how did you find the temperature of the water? I loved the warm Solarium pool on the Solstice.

Thanks for the detailed answers! I'll be sure to check out that drink. Sounds like a great time.
