Pikaia Posted January 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Vergil = verify, I presume? :p Does the bridge cam help? http://www.kroooz-cams.com/ncl_gem/gem.php And this webcam on Tortola sees part of a ship, but I have no idea which one. http://reservationsbvi.com/cam/roadharbour.html Edited January 27, 2015 by jplain

ColinIllinois Posted January 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) I thought Vergil was some kind of happy dance we were supposed to do if the ship had anchored. Edited January 27, 2015 by ColinIllinois
destaw7182 Posted January 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I was on the 12-21 January 2015 Gem sailing, and we tendered in Tortola. The pier looked as if there was still a lot of work to be done. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

bobbycruiser Posted January 27, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I did not know this. I was under the impression that the Gem would dock in Tortola on 2/24 when we stop there. It's already a short port stay so that tendering makes it even shorter. Semi disappointing.
destaw7182 Posted January 27, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Was there still shopping at the pier ? There use to be small stalls set up with local vendors. There were no shops open. Everything is boarded up and under construction. Honestly, I recommend a ship sponsored excursion for this port due to the condition of the pier and the limited time there. We were required to be back onboard by 12:30. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

destaw7182 Posted January 29, 2015 #13 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Does anyone know who have stopped at Tortola recently if there are cabs at the dock if you want to do your own excursion? Thanks in advance Rhea I was in Tortola on 18 January. I didn't see anything other than sponsored tour vans/buses in the immediate area.
