Heyitsnicolelee Posted January 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Since the reception on any boat is short, did you plan any additional on ship activities to spend time with your guests throughout the cruise?
LilBlackDress Posted January 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2015 We had a Pizza and Beer party the night before since all of our guests we're not sailing with us. The people that were sailing with us were all family so we all had dinner together every night. During the day, we ran into them on shore, on the ship, seemed like everywhere we turned someone was there (in a good way)
vegas82 Posted January 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2015 We bought out a restaurant and are having our reception there. Didn't like the offers with Royal Romance Sent from my iPhone using Forums
hbicfrd Posted January 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Since the reception on any boat is short, did you plan any additional on ship activities to spend time with your guests throughout the cruise? Currently we only have planned to have dinner with everyone each night (early dining). We feel as though this is their vacation too, so we want them to plan their own activities. Miss Kellybean Posted January 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2015 We only have 1 day in port and one at sea so our time is cut pretty short. We plan on telling everyone where our shore excursion is and if they choose to join us, super. If not, we hope to see them at dinner. :)
NL2134 Posted January 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Since only about 1/2 our guests were sailing, we did a pizza party the night before the wedding. During the cruise, we requested everyone attend dinner in main dining room the first night and the last formal night. A few people chose to eat there every night, but others chose to go with other options some nights. We did arrange excursions at 2 ports and invited everyone to join us... we had a total of 14 people sailing. In Cozumel, we swam with dolphins and all but 2 people joined in. In Belize we did cave tubing and there were 8 of us for that one. Besides that everyone was pretty much on their own. We didn't want to plan out their whole vacation. We did get together often and hang out on the ship, but it wasn't planned.
gymbomb Posted February 10, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2015 We actually did not have a reception at all. We did pizza the night before with those who were available (which included all 6 of our non sailing guests) then we paid for dinner in a specialty restaurant for everyone on evening and used our amenity points for a free cocktail party for everyone on the last sea day. dbrown13 Posted February 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2015 We are doing the Time to Celebrate package with Carnival and yes it's a very short time. Since we will have a lot of guests coming who will not be sailing and all of those are out of town guests we plan to have a rehearsal type dinner the night before somewhere in Galveston so that we can spend more time with everyone. I don't want my guests to feel cheated for coming all the way down just to see us for an hour so it will likely be a pretty big event. We're still so far out that we haven't decided on anything in particular yet though. And any suggestions on what to do are always appreciated :D
