mzcookiiebee520 Posted January 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Hello everyone, I've recently booked an aft balcony cabin on deck 13 and wanted to know how is it? Is it worth the money? This is my first cruise so I have no idea what to expect.
neptune18 Posted February 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We loved our aft on deck 12. Only negatives were that it got really hot due to lack of breeze and lots of soot after leaving Bermuda.

kayakgranny Posted February 2, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 2, 2015 Just booked an M3 mini suite 12228, the description said it sleeps 3-4, but the symbol Shows a triangle....meaning it's for 3 people....anyone have any info on these cabins sleeping arrangements. kayakgranny Posted February 2, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 2, 2015 That mini suite is on the Breakaway sailing out of NYC in Dec.
Janman Posted February 2, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 2, 2015 I would contact NCL to confirm that cabin 12228 would accommodate 4. It does show 3 on the deck plan.
Jenorama Posted February 2, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 2, 2015 Our first aft cabin was 9918 on the Breakaway to Bermuda and I am now spoiled. It was wonderful to have the large outside space and the rearward view. Leaving Bermuda was great because you could see the zig zag path through the coral the ship had to take and the water is just amazingly clear. We did not notice any issues with soot, but that's probably because we were down on deck 9. We have an aft mini booked on the Sun for Alaska this Sept and I'm really looking forward to it! Lori3015 Posted April 23, 2015 #20 Share Posted April 23, 2015 We had 9918 last week on Getaway and we did have soot on our balcony. However, that would not deter me from having that cabin again. The balcony was awesome we had 3 loungers and two chairs.

Lori3015 Posted April 23, 2015 #22 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Thinking of booking the Star next, does the aft facing balcony on the star have as much sq footage as the getaway/breakaway? Anyone have a spreadsheet on it?
AndyT3 Posted April 23, 2015 #23 Share Posted April 23, 2015 As far as I know, and don't quote me on this, but the only spreadsheet I've seen with detailed cabin information, is for the Breakaway. The rep I spoke to at NCL gave me the breakdown on square footage for that specific cabin.
Spirit25 Posted April 26, 2015 #24 Share Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) I just snagged 9922. I'm very excited! It is a handicapped room so I'm guessing the bathroom is bigger also , not just the balcony which I'm super happy about. I'm taking my sister on her first cruise. She is gonna be so spoiled she will think every balcony is supposed to be like this. Hehe. Edited April 26, 2015 by Spirit25
penwah2002 Posted April 29, 2015 #25 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Just off the BA Sunday. We stayed in aft cabin 9922, handicap room due to my DS using a scooter. The aforementioned DS has a snoring issue, the first night I didn't sleep a wink. The second night I took advantage of the large balcony with 3 reclining lounge chairs and two regular chairs. By taking my mattress, blankets and pillows out to the balcony and putting them on a lounger I was able to sleep like a baby. (Don't tell our cabin steward), he must have thought I was the most restless sleeper ever. I would put the matress back in the bed in the morning and tuck the sheets in, not nearly as well as he did but I always put everything back in the cabin. What a wonderful experience it was to sleep under the stars on the ocean. Pulling into to ÑYC Sunday morning I was awoke by jets flying in and out of NY. I was thankful for great rest the last six nights.
