Breeze or Conquest

I am trying to decide between the Breeze or the Conquest for the week of May 23rd for Hubby and I...both 8 days Caribbean. The ports are different but not as important to us since we usually just wander the island or ports and don't do many excursions, cruising for us is all about the down time not scheduling every second of our week so I really care about the ships. Since it's an 8 day the ship is the prime factor in my decision making. We have been on the Freedom, the Dream and the Sunshine. All opinions are welcome.

I've been on both ships and both are wonderful. However Breeze is newer and we loved the Bonsai Sushi. The presentation is wonderful. I do not know if the Conquest has it or not. Good luck.

We were on Conquest last year and this year we're booked for Breeze in June. I've noticed Breeze is a lot more in cost but I suppose it's due to it being a bigger, newer ship. Plus, an extra day longer than last year's trip.

The Breeze is about $200 more than the same days on Conquest, but I also looked at SPA cabins on the Breeze, the conquest doesn't have any spa cabins.

It has been some time ago that I was on the Conquest and she is one of my very favorite ships. I love Fish n Chips and hadn't been on a cruise with that. Of course, my first thought is about food! :D I was in extended aft balcony on both ships - equal in size, no difference there. the Breeze...a beautiful ship! Loved everything about her - all the food offerings, the ropes course, the slides, the hot tubs, Serenity, casino, and especially the décor. Btw, I am 58 yo, probably important to know as any opinion is slanted by age. Haven't been on a bad cruise, never had bad food, never been dissatisfied with solutions when there were problems (see my signature). Still love the Conquest but the Breeze was a different experience with some ports I had not been to. She will have to move out of Miami for me to sail on her again only because I have to fly to sail on her but if she were in Galveston or NOLA, she would be my choice every time!

Another vote for Breeze. Breeze will offer you many more things to do during your cruise. And because you've already sailed a conquest class ship that almost has the same things as Conquest.....you'll have a different experience with Breeze.

Whichever you choose......Happy Sailing!!!!!

thanks everyone - I really appreciate the thoughts...seems like I can't go wrong either way. Both have their supporters:)

Hubby and I love our vacas - since he works away from home Monday thru Friday we make the most of our 26 vaca days a year. We also have a cruise scheduled on RC in August (first time with them...) We started cruising in '09 for our 15 yr anniversary and LOVED it. The one last year on the Sunshine was nice enough but like reviews have been posted there were several things that were just slightly off - never ruined our days because we are laid back people and go with the flow.

Really looking forward to an 8 day cruise the longest we did was the Dream for 7 and that was with extended family so it felt very rushed always going to make sure they had fun...we've gone back to just the 2 of us since that trip.

Time to get out the dart board and see what wins.

If you wants lots of things to do (which it sounds like you do), I would vote Breeze, we just got off the Breeze, I loved it! However, I think I am going to go with Conquest or Liberty for our next cruise, to try something a little smaller. Breeze holds a lot of people and I could tell! It might not be much better on Conquest, but I'll give it a shot.

Did both of those ships last month. The Breeze is an amazing ship, had a cloud 9 spa room and loved it, but.... the food and service was much better on the Conquest.

We never received any of the "xtra" flyers with our Fun Times, the deli closed at 5 PM, The buffets were never open past 2 in the afternoon, so if you came back from port hungry, your options were pizza or deli. The Cantina didn't serve breakfast. Dining room service was slow, and I enjoy "dining". But it was after 10 every night when we were done.

The lounge used for the comedy club is much nicer on Conquest, more seats and much more comfortable.

So much of what we enjoyed on the Conquest, just wasnt there on the Breeze.

just got off the conquest, yesterday. I'd pick the Breeze. The ship felt tired. We were on the Breeze last year and while there were things I don't like about the larger ships, it was a much nicer ship than the conquest.

If I could take one thing from the conquest and put it on the Breeze, it would be the adult only pool. I could never figure out why the Breeze did not have an adult only pool.
