We paln to visit Giovanni's for lunch on embarkment day. Has anyone else done this? I see we cannot make reservations for lunch in advance. Will we have to plan to stand in line oe is there seldom a wait?

Going to Giovanni's for lunch on embarkation day is an excellent decision! It allows you to get away from the mobs which you will have until all are allowed to go to their cabins and have a relaxing lunch.

We were able to walk right in and be seated. Not everyone realizes what a good embarkation day option Giovanni's it.

Thanks! I thnk read that it opens at 1 PM, although we should be able to be there earlier as we plan to arrive at the port by 11 AM. As Diamonds we will be some of the first to board. I am looking forward to it!

We ate at Giovani last February on the Navigator, all 8 of us loved it! Six of us will be cruising on Serenade in a couple of weeks along with another 8 people. We are eating at Giovanni's.....their food is awesome, service awesome and our filets were all wonderful. Hoping for the same experience his year.

What is the dinner surcharge for Giovanni's ?

We paid $15 for lunch and $ 25 for dinner on the Oasis october and november last year.

Among our favourites are the almond crusted scallops, eggplant parmiggiana, antipasti, gnocchi, risotto, lamb chops, osso bucco, filet mignon, tiramisu and the Malaga icecream with a shot of espresso on top! For lunch the lasagna and the stuffed chicken, but also the fish was excellent. We just love the food at Giovanni's. Tried Chops again in november on the Oasis, but were not impressed with the new menu items. It is not the same quality and experience it used to be.

Nowadays Giovanni's is our favourite.

For a long time, using our BOGO, we ate in Chops the first night and on longer cruises additional nights. After the menu was changed, we found after visits on 2 different ships, that the quality of much of the food to be significantly less. We will use Chops only reluctantly when friends with whom we are dining want to go there. Then, we have the shrimp cocktail, onion soup, salad and veal chop parmesan; which are usually good.

We believe Giovanni's to offer a better experience.
