Loyal to rccl but thinking about getaway

We are pretty easy to please. Like entertainment and bigger ships.

 

Concerned about smoking though. How bad is it?

 

Any other comment from experience would be appreciated thanks!

Getaway has been a crowd pleaser for Norwegian. I haven't sailed her yet, but I've been on Epic, which has a very similar interior configuration. I didn't find the smoke to be overwhelming anywhere, but it is obvious in the casino. That said, a bar or two away you won't even notice it. Don't let the overblown smoke scare you away from Norwegian's big ships. Have fun!

I thought smoking was just allowed inside at the casino? Also is smoking allowed all around the outside decks?

We were booked for the RCCI Navigator of the Seas for 10/18/15. But we canceled it and booked on the Getaway for 10/17/18. They had a balcony guarantee this past weekend for $799pp and with the UBP it was an incredible deal!

We have sailed many times on the Allure and Oasis, great ships, but, the Getaway provides a superior experience

Like you we used to be loyal to royal and we are diamond with them, that being said, we've been on the Epic and was on the Getaway twice. We really liked the Getaway, we like the option of dining when you want, where you want. If you want to do the specialty restaurants, they are very good, especially Cagneys. The shows are very good, there's always something going on at night. You can smoke in the casino and in an enclosed area by the pool and at the bars. i didn't find the smoke to be an issue.
