San Juan Airport Taxi

How easy is it to get a taxi at the San Juan airport? We are flying in next week and need to get a taxi ride to the Doubletree by Hilton. I was surprised to learn that the hotel does not have a shuttle pick up at the airport.

I don't think any hotels there offer shuttles. When we were there two years ago, getting a taxi was no trouble at all. Just be aware that there's an extra charge for each bag the driver puts in the trunk, even small ones like backpacks. So, if it's small enough to fit comfortably on your lap, hang onto it.

Very easy to get a taxi and a system that ensures you are getting the right price.

 

Line up in dispatcher line. He will give you a piece of paper with the price, it is all calculated by zones. There are per bag charges and a late night extra charge. You give the paper to the driver. Et voila....

 

There are extra people charges if you are more than 4 people. Dispatcher will get you a van.

 

There will be tons of taxis just like at major cities here.

 

As previous poster mentioned there are no hotels offering shuttles.
