Why book PH, RS, or CS?

Well said.

Which cruise line do you recommend?

Thank you.

Eve

Cannot agree that Redtravel's post was "well said". Those of us who choose to "share our cruise with ... people paying a lot less money" and choose not to "book a different cruise line" would recommend Celebrity.

Wife and sister-in-law were Silversea people. I convinced sister-in-law to try X and she's hooked. She was in a RS when we were in the PH this April. We booked the identical rooms for 2016.

IMHO: A butler isn't a big deal on Silversea because everyone has one.

IMHO: Suite class is a response to The Haven class on NCL.

So you are booked on Connie again for 2016?

The photos posted of the Suite only dining room made us squint.

Suite dining with butler and additional space are positives.

We don't entertain others in the suite or need a lounge

dedicated to suite guests. We'd rather extend invitations to

dinner in a specialty restaurant.

We prefer large ships w/more options. Can any one recommend

large ships w/more options that best Celebrity?

Thanks to all posters for expressing thoughts.

Yes. We booked the same rooms again for 2016. I had been trying to book a PH for some time. I finally learned my lesson and booked the 2014 cruise the day bookings opened (well over 2 years in advance). I booked the 2016 cruise the day I got back from the 2014.

We booked a Royal Suite a year out, both PH's were already booked. My Celebrity planner Kristy is excellent. I would never book with a TA as long as she still works for Celebrity. She put us on the waiting list for a PH. About a month before we sail (sail on Saturday) the PH became available. That's after final payment, I hope the people booked in the PH are ok. Having said that, Kristy held the room and contacted me. We upgraded so are finally sailing in the PH. So excited! Just 2 sleeps to sailing!

Congrats on snagging the PH, I'm sure it will be fabulous. We're on your sailing and will be nearby in a RS for the first time. We are extremely excited as well!. Hope to see you on the ship!

Mike, we had an RS before upgrading. It was going to be our first time also.

I'm sure you will. There are 4 of us sailing, first time for my son on Celebrity. He cruised once before on a 3 day Carnival to see if he like cruising. He got really sick and hated it. I am hoping to try and get him hooked.

We stayed the night before in Ft, Lauderdale and arrived at VIP check-in at about 11:30. They escorted us to Michael's and we had a great time while waiting for the room to be made ready. It was about 1:30 when the butler escorted us to the room. Don't be afraid to ask for anything.

Butler has his own entrance to the butler pantry/kitchen. It really works well for dining in the room. Butler pantry has a full refrigerator with ice through the door, microwave, and sink.

Phone in the entry way shows you who is at the door if they ring the door bell. Total of four phones in the various rooms. Master bath is larger than the first cabin I sailed in on RCI. Wretched excess at its' best. :)

We are ruined.

Being ruined is what I am afraid of. The PH was on my bucket list......I may not be able to down grade after this which means I won't be able to afford a bucket.

Yes, but if you are trying to get your son hooked on cruising - staying in the PH is not a bad way to go about it. Pretty smart f you ask me.

There are four of us as well including my two young sons (ages 3 and 4) - both experienced Celebrity cruisers.

Mom and I had a RS on Infinity last November as we sailed through the Panama Canal. Our reasons were space and the assistance of the Michael's Club concierge and our butler.

Space - Mom took the bedroom and I slept on the sofa bed, which, to be honest was not bad at all. We have traveled many times before and realize we need our own sleeping quarters - otherwise we'd keep each other awake. It was a 2 week cruise and we enjoy a balcony and having an extra large one with loungers was perfect. We did order breakfast 3 or 4 times and dinner once or twice.

MC Concierge and butler. Mom's 83 and I'm ....younger ;) For boarding she used the wheelchair assistance and it was nice to go right to MC's and wait for our room to be ready. Teguh, our butler was very caring and always made sure we were doing okay and didn't need anything.

For us, it was a huge comfort knowing there were two people we could call on for help. They were always around to lend a helping hand or answer a question. Teguh learned our routine very quickly yet was never an intrusion.

Not sure we will have a routine, I feel sorry for our Butler trying to figure it out. Our lives are very routine through our work, we cruise because we are off the grid and away from any routine.

So ready for this cruise!

I'm like you, I hate to plan anything on a crusie and just go with the flow.

So to help my butler out, I ask him to just leave a tray of coffee (in a pot) and assorted pastries and juice daily at 8am on the table.

I tell him to come into the cabin at any time and do anything he needs to, knock, don't use doorbell. I use the Do Not Disturb sign on my bedroom door, so they can place all food clean the main cabin etc. without disturbing me if I'm, napping.

I ask the butler to leave al the afternoon snacks even If Im not there.

Yes, that is exactly who I mean. I would love to hire her or at least have an employee just like her.

She is a doll! We have booked 5 trips with her in RS and she worked with us extensively last year when we couldn't make online payments. She's the best! Enjoy the PH!
