Not anywhere in San Juan , more like $5 -7 beers .

San Juan is not known for its cheap prices, at least when compared to other, non US destinations in the Caribbean. You may find cheap beers in small, out of the way, hole in the wall bars frequented by the locals, but definitely not in touristy areas.

Saying that there is bar right across the street from the Carnival port a hole in the wall place they had cheap beers we sat there and had a few while we waited for the lines to clear one day before embarkation. But other than that I normally find a store and grab a 12 pack .

If you shop bars and touristy places you will not find cheap prices. Try the CVS near the pier or the Supermax supermarket near Plaza de Armas (about 4 blocks away). You'll find most beers in 12 packs (cans) and 6 packs (bottles) for less than $1 a can and $2 a bottle. Both places should have the most popular brands cold as well. If buying on your way to a beach ask the taxi driver to take to Supermax in Condado (near Condado beaches) or Pueblo in Isla Verde (near the best beach in the San Juan area).
