Royal refreshment drink package question

Recommended Posts

I'm cruising with my children on the Oasis of the Seas in a couple of months, and I'm considering getting the Royal Refreshment drink package for the kids. I was on the Oasis last year and seen the machines and the plastic cups necessary to use the machines. I also know I have no interest in packing those plastic cups around for my kids, or going back to get them after they set them down somewhere and left them. My question is - can you take advantage of the drink package without the cups? When you order a soda in the dining room, do you need the plastic cup? Or is it still free, with the cups only for the convenience of the machines?

Part two of the question is I'm considering getting the alcohol package for adults, and they came with the plastic souvenir cup last year. Are those the cups for use in the machine? I never tried them last year.

The cups are only necessary if you want to use the Freestyle machines. The kids only need their SeaPass card to get a soda from a bar or restaurant. The other also packages include the cups for the Freestyle machine.

The bars and restaurants have a limited selection of flavors, usually Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Tonic Water, and Soda Water.
