happyspouses Posted February 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2015 Taking a train from Venice, we want to stay in the Tuscany Region for about three nights. We would like to stay in an area with either B&Bs or homes renting rooms where we can have breakfast. We would like to be able to walk to a nearby small town with some restaurants to experience the Italian cuisine and small markets, and take side trips to see the country side. Any recommendations for the names of towns like this and/or names of places to stay?
Twickenham Posted February 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2015 Last summer we spent 4 nights in a vacation rental on the edge of Panzano, in the Chianti region: Agriturismo Felciano. While this is a self-catering cottage, rather than a B&B, there are some B&B places in the area as listed here. The area was gorgeous, and would highly recommend a vacation there. Note while you don't absolutely have to have a car (there's a bus from Florence), it really does make touring a lot easier.
