Cathyandchuck Posted February 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2015 Looking to go to a beach for the day and Celebrity doesn't offer the Rosario island tour any longer as far as I can tell. Has anyone visited the islands on their own or with a local tour? We are interested in relaxing at the beach and possibly snorkeling. Information and suggestions appreciated. Rare Jetswdo Posted April 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2015 Very frustrating- have no desire to spend day in the heat-- would have loved to just spend the day in the islands-- we are looking into a private boat to at least go snorkeling -- but would only do this if we could get 4 others--we will be there last day of the year 12/31- from Princess Coral.... If this doesn't work out, then we will just go to petting zoo? by the port. The private Rosario Islands tours are 2 hours too long, for the hours that Princess will be in port. If this doesn't work out, then we will just go to petting zoo? by the port. The private Rosario Islands tours are 2 hours too long, for the hours that Princess will be in port. It's not a petting zoo, there are a few birds in cages, bunnies, monkeys in the trees, flamingos are in a fenced area, Peacocks are roaming around but they really won't let you touch them. Occasionally a parrot will fly down to your table. Just don't want you to thnk its a petting zoo (like we have here in the states) then get dissapointed. Hope you have a great trip Cartagena is a beautiful city.
hawgtuf Posted May 3, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2015 Visit the Old City. Go to Cafe Del Mar, see the old cathedrals. It is absolutely beautiful.
Jen1000 Posted May 31, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) There is quite a long beach in town. If you put into a map Hotel Caribe you will see the beach area. They rent chairs and tents on the beach. Have you posted in your roll call to see if others want to do a tour with you? Also, post on Trip Advisor for more help as they may know more about the beaches and island access. I agree with the above post that seeing at least the walled city would be a good use of time, it is very nice. Snorkel Dawg Posted January 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2016 I'm excited to visit the old city on our march Columbia stop. How would you compare it to the old walled city in old San Juan Puerto Rico?
