Tell me about Carnival Pride.

We just booked a cruise on the pride for May 31st. We haven't been on her in four years which was before the 2.0. Any tips and photos would be great. Few questions...

1. Does Pride have the new menus? If not, will they have them before or after May 31st... anyone know?

2. Alright casino people, we are not big casino people. However, we still take our luck for a spin.. Do we have to set up an account or do we just insert or SS card and play? Also, my son turned 18 last summer and in our state you can't enter most casinos until age 21. However, I know he will be wanting to test his luck, and suggestions on slot machine games, etc...

3. Again any other tips and hints for Pride would be awesome!

Didn't as of January. Don't know if they'll be rolled out for your cruise.

No casino experience.

Your son may enjoy the Green Thunder in the water works area. A very special slide experience. :D

Also for the over 21 crowd, the Serenity area on deck 9, aft is quite nice.

I'm following this too. We will b on Pride the week b4 u. Your room key is also your slot card. U do need to set up a pi. #. $ is loaded on your card when u cash out. Casino is 18 and over. I have some of the best luck on the oldest crappy looking machines. Lol seems like the bright fancy ones eat up your $$. They have a skills game in most Carnival casinos that our kids like. U can win an iPod, iPad or cash.

Thanks! Glad you can benefit from this thread. Hopefully someone recently off her can tell us more about how they like the 2.0 upgrades.

We just sailed the Pride out of Tampa in January. They do have the upgrades, Guys burgers, Sports bar, the new shows, ( that myself did not find that great) and they do not have a new show every night anymore, they will do two of the same shows in the week, IE:Mondays show will show again on Wed or Thurs, etc. They do have the new menu although we only ate in the dining room a few nights, they have the outdoor movies, and popcorn, Save your money in the casino, Just spend what you know for fun, because their is not any big winners. Its a clean ship and I seen them cleaning all the time, crew was nice.

We sailed on Feb 8th cruise - old menus

Not sure about the age limit. Put you money in but must cash out to S&S card - pretty easy to create a pin for your account at the slot machine.

Loved breakfast burritos at the Blue Iguana (usually not very busy either). If breakfast buffet line is long try heading aft to the other section - same stations sometimes the lines were smaller. We would take our trays and eat outside in the serenity area as there were a few tables back there. If you go to Dive In movie don't wait until last minute or you might not be able to find seat. Get to comedy shows early to or difficult to find a seat. We did not care for the shows in the theater.

Never been a huge carnival fan but we really enjoyed our cruse on the Pride.

R they the new shows with the Hasbro junk?

I believe there was a Hasbro show one night - we didn't attend. The other shows were playlist productions - just not impressed with some of the singers so we didn't see too much...

We cruised last year in Feb on the Freedom and April on the Conquest. We loved the food.

I see questions about old and new menu's and don't know which we had. I loved the cold soups and my daughter and I are looking forward to them In april when we will be on the pride?

Anyone care to guess if We had old or new menu's last year?

Where can I find the menu's to know?

Thanks

I don't have copies of the menu and we only went to MDR a couple of times. We looked at the menu every day and I know some days had some cold soups offered a few times. Sorry can't remember what they were...

The Hasbro show was not an evening show when we were on the Conquest - We loved it - Our Youngest daughter, 8 at the time, won the grand prize of several travel games and $150 gift card - I'll take that junk any day! ;)

Everyone has their own likes. We don't enjoy those shows for evening entertainment. The new playlist productions lack a little quality compared to having a live band.

The main showroom tells the tail. It use to be full and now u can walk in late and still get a seat. More people go to the comedy shows now.

zydecocruiser has the menus with pics.

Did you join the roll call? We're doing a meet 'n greet 1st sea day 11 am Red Frog Pub on deck 2.

I see the pride menu is from 2008. Are the options still the same?

TIA ;)

As for the meet and greet - can anyone go - we have two kids also 11 and 9 how do we sign up? Yrs ago to ID each other we wore duct tape - with the many styles now It would be a hoot to show up with some type of duct tape accessory :)

Still had a lot of trouble getting Lido forward by pool cleaned up. Glasses, food, ashtrays dirty for hours. There are many fewer tables which are stationary. The aqua colored sofa style love seats and single seats look very pretty but are very impractical. The have a low cocktail table so not conducive to eating and I have no idea how they will keep the cloth clean. The cushions smush down to nothing.

Loved Guy's. The Burrito Bar has an awful looking thing in the mornings that tastes really good--just looks like someone didn't keep their food down...sorry to gross you out.

The Lido is set up very differently due to the above 2 venues. The movie screen was neat. It played Caribbean scenes while the singer played. Movies weren't well attended when I was on. Don't bother getting popcorn. No flavor at all.

Cabins still have old TV's in a lot of them. Bonsai looked nice--used to be a sitting area conference style room. Not many people in there.

She's a beautiful ship and can't wait to go next week, the last she'll be in Tampa before starting in Tampa but moving to Baltimore the next week. Darn.
