Questions Port of Call Port Canaveral

We will be arriving early April on Quantum for port of call at Port Canaveral. We are a large active group teens to 40's. Unfortunately we don't pull into PC till 1pm and depart at 10pm. Looking for a nice clean beach to rent chairs, umbrellas for several hours. Possibly close to a Hotel/Restaurant? Any assistance will be appreciated.

Most beach-based shore trips (including surf lessons) go to the Cocoa Beach area just south of Captain J's or Sandbar restaurants. The shuttles park in the big parking lot between Ron Jon Surf Shop and the beach.

You can join one of those trips or you can arrange your own shuttles. Either way, you can rent beach chairs, learn to surf, etc. You are just a block away from Sandbar restaurant/bar (a very popular locals hangout) and two blocks from Sheraton Four Points and several shops and restaurants. If it is a rainy day you have plenty of options here.

There are beaches closer to the Port (lovely Jetty Park for example) which you can easily walk to (Quantum docks nearby at CT 4) but with limited choices in terms of restaurants (only the Park Shop & Grill - which is quite good actually). The Holiday Inn Club has a restaurant and bars which you can also walk to. On a rainy day the Jetty Park option may not be the best.

The Cocoa Beach Pier is another option if you have your own shuttles but a bit pricey nowadays with several restaurants and hotels nearby.

Hello,

If Quantum pulls into the "port call" berths as she did the other day, you will be immediately next to the nicest beach in the area...Jetty Park. Nice and clean, safe beach with rentals and a good snack bar. The beach at Jetty Park is free to walk to and is nicer (in my opinion) than the beach that most people go to.

If you want, you can walk along the beach from there to the Cocoa Beach Pier (tiki bar and surfers and restaurants) and back in about an hour and half or so....or walk one way and taxi the other. It's a lovely walk I do nearly every day. Or, you could just hang out at Jetty Park and enjoy the sun and generally gentle surf there.

You can view the info on where Quantum may dock here with map:

I don't know for sure that the ship will be there again, but it is what I would bet on, as it's the same time of day, and that berth is for ships visiting, but not home ported in Port Canaveral.

Hope this helps,

Johncn
