gapgrl9901 Posted September 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2005 I'm taking a cruise the week before Christmas and was wondering what the weather will be like? I'm cruising to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Freeport. I found out that Freeport averages about 80 degrees or a little below around that time, unless a cold front comes through. Is the same true for the other two ports? I just want to pack accordingly. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
MariahJ Posted September 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2005 I think we are going on the same cruise - Carnival Liberty, right? I looked this up and yes, the weather is about the same for all 3 ports. It looks like the Caymans are the warmest with an avg. high temp. of 84 in December. It should be beautiful. twinkletoes4445 Posted September 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2005 We were in GC on January 1st, and the weather was beautiful. It was really warm, but not real humid. The water temp was like bath water...sooooo nice! Cozumel was also warm, but I found the water to be a little chilly compared to GC. Have a great time! bruce-r Posted September 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2005 In GCM, the water temp in December should be about 81f +/- a degree. Fair chance that the wind will be from the North making Stingray city a bit rough, sometimes too rough for the ship's excursions. In Cozumel, the water temp should be around 79f +/- 1 degree. Also here if the wind is from the north, the water on the West side of the island will be rough and the water clarity at the beach clubs will be poor. CruiseMark Posted September 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2005 Hey guys, I'll be on that Liberty cruise too! (Dec 18-24). Have you checked out the roll call thread? http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=193236&page=1&pp=
Mike2131 Posted September 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2005 The scuba and snorkel excursions for the 4 ships in port were canceled (2 days of rough water from the Panama Canal to GC) during our cruise last December. If that occurs, check on the tender pier to see if independent tours are running. We missed our ship's combination snorkel tour (with Stingray City), but other passengers booked on the pier and did make it to Stingray City.
