Snow Family Posted February 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Hi There, I'm new to cruise critic and trying to figure out how everything works. I'm an experienced traveller EXCEPT when it comes to cruising. My husband and I have never been on a cruise before. We are also travelling with a grandparent (my husbands mum) and our one year old. We are staying in a Quad Ocean Suite and have booked a crib. On the Spirt, does anyone know if the cribs are proper cots or porta cots? Also, our baby for now still has two bottles a day and is on normal cows milk before bed at night and very early in the morning. I believe we have a bar fridge in our room. My question here is, can we take milk on the ship with us or are we best looking for a powdered milk option? If all else fails, we can always take formula but this is the expensive option. Does anyone have any advice as to how to travel with a one year old on a cruise ship. Our baby has been competently walking since 10 months old, competently climbs up and down furniture and overall is on the go ALL DAY. The only time he stops is when he is sleeping (yes, he's hard work but we wouldn't have him any other way). We are bringing one of the grandparents with us just so my husband and I can have a bit of a break. From everything I have read he's too young to go into the kids club and Night Owls (which is way past his bed time anyway). Any advice about travelling with a little toddler would be much appreciated. Thanks LIsa
ukdiver Posted February 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2015 you can get milk on the ship. for free, up on Lido or in the restaurant, and probably at any of the bars if you ask nicely
Jebesy Posted March 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Hi, I'm traveling with my 17-month old on the Carnival Spirit on April 29th and i'm keen for some info too! What are the cots like? Is it difficult to get a high chair in the dining rooms? Is there anywhere i can warm up milk? Thanks!
bobhsv Posted March 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Here is a link to pic of the cots Carnival use. I also read that some people purchase magnetic hooks and a cheap shower curtain....................They use this to hang the shower curtain from the ceiling to go around the cot, re privacy for baby. Kinda like their own little room. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2088500 Re reheating milk. Just take bottle up to the buffet area, dining room and ask. Milk is also available from there. Edited March 7, 2015 by bobhsv
