what zone to bid on in Miami

When bidding on Pricline or looking at Hotwire, where are the best areas as far as distance from the airport and to the cruise port to stay in when leaving out of Miami? Miami Beach, downtown Miami, South Beach? Thanks for the info from all of you "in the know"!

I have bid in the downtown zone successfully with priceline. 2 years ago got the hyatt for $35 per night and just yesterday got the Radisson for $50 per night for four rooms on 11/18/05. The radisson is about a mile or two from the port. lilli

For one pre-cruise night you would want to be in "Downtown" Miami, that's about 15 minutes from MIA and just across the bridge from the port.
