Shana7000 Posted February 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Has anyone done the Stingray City & Barrier Reef Snorkel excursion booked through Norwegian Cruise lines? Would you suggest or not? Looking for a fun day for our boys 11 and 9. Have heard mixed reviews. Really really good and really really bad. Nothing in the middle so hard to gauge. Thanks! PJDH4 Posted January 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2018 I know this post is several years old, but did you wind up doing this excursion? If so, how was it? I have kids similar ages and we are looking into doing this on our upcoming cruise on the Epic, but I can't really find any reviews! Thanks!
scubaslayer Posted January 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2018 In case they don't get back to you, my kids are the same age. We used Stingray City Sailing for stingrays and snorkeling, and had a wonderful time. Their max is 25 per tour and was not crowded at all. The RCCL excursion was a double decker boat that looked packed. I imagine NCL puts as many as will fit on their excursion as well.
OCruisers Posted January 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Best not to take any with a double decker boat -- private or with the ship. Some private excursions do use double decker boats so beware.

Why is that? Just because double decker means more people or is there another reason?
