GoPro Mount Question

Hi guys,

 

Going on the Breakway on 03/08! Super excited!

 

I'd love to film the Ropes Course/Zip Lining on the NCL Breakaway with my Go Pro. Does anyone know which mount would be best to catch the action with? Thanks!

I have been wondering the same thing! I'm thinking a wrist mount will be my choice as I can edit out bad parts when my hands are moving yet still be able to capture myself and my group instead of just first person perspective.

I used this one over the helmet when recording our zip lining excursion in Puerto Rico last year...

It has tacky material on the inside that kept it from slipping at all. Was very secure.

I used the head strap and it worked out very well! You use your arms a lot during the course so I don't think the wrist mount would be best. The head strap is very steady and the point of view of the video can't be beat. Watching it back, it's like reliving the experience because you see what you saw!

 

Whichever way you decide to mount the GoPro, be sure to practice before you bored so you know exactly how to set it to get a straight shot.

My dh was not permitted to use his head mount or his chest mount on Getaway. He was turned away on different days by different staff. He was frustrated since he'd seen YouTube videos of others doing it.

That is so weird... I can't see why there would be any reason to ban filming of the course.

It's not the filming they ban. I think it had to do with it being considered dangerous or might cause issues with the safety restraints for some reason. Who knows.

just off the Getaway...GoPro cameras are not banned..no issues at all

I tried the chest harness, but, the camera was blocked by the safety cable

Used by head strap and got some fanatastic video
