ajtcruiser Posted February 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2015 Hello, I am taking a cruise with my almost 2 year old who has never cruised and do not want to bring a carseat. Anyone know of shuttle, taxi, car service that provides carseats. I am flying into Houston and need transported to Galveston. I am in a large group of people 14-19. Any help appreciated! mikesteg Posted February 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2015 Here is a prior thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1588973 The one time we cruise out of Galveston (while not living in Texas), we actually rented a car and paid to park it. However, it was different in that we were visiting family for several days before hand. In your case, you can probably do well on a per-person cost basis with a shuttle bus (or 2 or 3.) :) In the end, you're going to need to call and ask about carseats, particularly if you want a guarantee that they'll have one. We have never run into a problem, but most car rental or shuttle will not guarantee availability of a seat. Anyway, the above thread should give you some leads. Sooner-Cruisers Posted February 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2015 After facing a similar dilemma, someone recommended this: Costco Scenera, it's cheap, super light and can be used on planes! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Cosco-Scenera-NEXT-Convertible-Car-Seat-Choose-your-Print/41126739 For $39, it's hard to beat! We took it off the ship to use in the taxi in Cozumel too.
CruiseBuni Posted February 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2015 When I took our then 16 month old on a cruise that left out of Houston, we booked a cruise transfer from the airport to the port through Princess. The transportation provided was a bus so no car seat needed. Sent from my iPad using Forums
