Captain Merrill Posted March 7, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Glad you had great time. We were on same cruise and you did a great job. As far as Roatan goes...Best place to head if not on a tour in Roatan is West End beach. Grab a taxi at Mahog Bay and tell them to take you there. Great bars and resturant sand awesome atmosphere. Super safe as well. Just be sure to give yourself time to get back because you will not want to leave.

dessert first Posted March 12, 2015 #28 Share Posted March 12, 2015 Thanks for your informative review of the ship and its strengths and foibles. My husband and I have never taken a Princess cruise either so your inside info helped a lot. (We leave on March 22.) FYI: My girlfriend and I cruised for a week on HAL's Eurodam last month (Eastern Caribbean). Our favorite part of the cruise, hands down, was the BB King Blues band / bar. This band was a stunning, talented group out of Chicago (?) with a huge repertoire and significant "heft." (I would pay to hear them in a landlocked club in a heart beat.) The centrally located club itself was large and airy with great sound, a spacious dance floor, and requisite bar and wait staff. Yes, it was an older crowd (spring breaks were solidly history) but the dance floor was populated by all age groups. Having been on an Alaskan cruise on another line, I think intuition is spot on: It's not a "party" atmosphere on that itinerary. People are up early for excursions that leave at o'dark thirty. Anyway, thanks for your insight. BTW, you and your husband make a great looking couple.
Grego Posted March 14, 2015 #29 Share Posted March 14, 2015 Nice review and glad you enjoyed your voyage. Sorry about Roatan. Interesting tours of some classic ruins and other stuff. I'm assuming that the first sea day was a formal night and the next sea day was the second. Is that correct? On the second formal night was lobster tail and prawns served?
