amberxob Posted March 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Do the menus in the complementary dinning rooms( savory, taste and Tropicana Room) change nightly or are they the same throughout the whole cruise? Also, and I make reservation for them? Thank you! (:
Demonyte Posted March 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Yes the menus change daily. There are some dishes that are on the menu every night but about half of them change. Unfortunately yes, nowadays one can make reservations to MDRs but it is definitely not necessary as per Freestyle concept.
amberxob Posted March 3, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Thank you! Which restaurant is the main dinning room? Are there set time and tables like other cruise line? Sorry for all the question it's going to be my first time on Norwegian:o
Demonyte Posted March 3, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2015 On Breakaway class ships there are three MDRs, one in aft and two midship right next to each other - on all NCL ships the aft MDR is the dressier one and midship one(s) have more relaxed dress code. On Getaway the aft MDR is called Tropicana Room (if I remember correctly), and midship MDRs are Taste and Savor. No set times or tables, NCL's Freestyle Cruising means that all dining is like in restaurants on land - you arrive when ever and if there are no available tables, you'll get a beeper and can wait for a table in a bar. If ypu want, you can share a table with others/strangers by requesting it, but others need to have asked for it too. I think that reading NCL's Dining Guide and FAQs would help you a lot: http://www.ncl.com/diningguide http://www.ncl.com/faq

LrgPizza Posted March 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 3, 2015 So, In the two casual dining rooms, it's really OK for men to wear nice shorts to dinner? Yes. It's okay everywhere except Le Bistro and Tropicana Room, so he can even wear shorts in the other specialty restaurants. Plenty of people do. flipper32 Posted March 4, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Unless I'm wrong you can't wear shorts at Ocean Blue, I thought I remember reading that on my last cruise. It never mattered to me since we never went there.
Mirrasi Posted March 4, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Also, I believe the Tropicana room has a dance show around 6pm. I don't know if it's everynight or not since I haven't gone yet. Im sure someone can confirm
