monkeybone Posted March 6, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 6, 2015 Yeah crazy story, you know how they swipe your room key now, well they brought me the wrong card back, I go to the store, pick up 20 cartons for myself (I calculated how many weeks till my next cruise hehe) and 10 for my cousin, they box it up and go to help me to my room,,,,,,the key doesn't work,,,,,,I look at the key and it was someone else's lol. Back to the store, then to guest services,,,,then I let the casino host know what was going on. Crazy crazy crazy. I can only imagine the look on the persons face when they checked their TV for their charges and saw the 2K bill (& credit) lol Haha
lbrandon Posted March 6, 2015 #27 Share Posted March 6, 2015 The bar tab alone on our last cruise was around $1,200. They will lose money later this month when we have the UBP. It wasn't available the last time we cruised.
jackparts Posted March 6, 2015 #28 Share Posted March 6, 2015 Turkey Day, 2013, my grandson spent 494.00 and granddaughter spent $425.00 in the arcade in 7 days. Made sure that didn't happen in 2014. Granddaughter only spent 370.00 in the arcade. Forgot to put the limit on the grandsons card. Final result, 1344.00+ over the 7 days. Needless to say I was not too happy with myself or ten year old grandson. Will not happen this year or ever, he no longer gas charging privileges at all. moesyk4 Posted March 6, 2015 #29 Share Posted March 6, 2015 Holy crap, almost 2,000 in the arcade?!? I would have a heart attack! We have been on 7 cruises and at least our last 4 have had a bill of less than $20. We do private excursions, prepay gratuities, we aren't shoppers. My DH is cheap about drinks, so we usually do one excursion that involves drinking and then just get one drink on a sea day for a splurge. "Back in the day" aka about 3 years ago and before, there were several opportunities throughout the cruise to get free alcohol and least on Carnival and RCCL where we have sailed previously...captain's party, past guest party, and the sailaway part all had free booze. I believe all 3 are no more. Anyway, before 2007 or so we did do ship excursions so our bill was higher for that alone. We got the UBP on this cruise and are going to purchase the UDP, and then our next is a suite with all the perks, so excited about that!
