St Martin transportation question

In the past we have rented a car and explored the island. This year we are considering hiring a cab for the day. There are 8 of us, so we need a van.

Does anybody have any experience doing this? Cost? Can it be set up in advance? Best place to find a van cab? Thanks...

Yep. another recommendation for Bernard. We took his tour last time we were there and didn't regret it!

Last March we went on the Getaway to St Maarten. I decided not to book a ship excursion but just get off the ship and see what we could find. We just started talking to this nice gentleman about tours and I asked him his name, it was "Bernard". Immediately lights starting going off and I booked his tour. It wasn't with him, but another person who did a great tour of the island. I told him I had heard of his name from Cruise Critic and he said yes, he did a lot of tours with people that posted on Cruise Critic.
