PittsburghGirlee Posted March 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2015 For the first time in 13 cruises, I sadly have to cancel my upcoming cruise... YES YES YES I thankfully DO have insurance. My BFF and cruise buddy is very ill and we will not be able to go. I am so thankful that she is very slowly on the mend as it was very "touch n go" for several weeks. We had hoped and did lots of praying that she would be well enough to cruise, but that is not the case. I am more sad about my friends health issues than having to cancel the cruise. Cruising is our "ME" time and Girls Only get-a-way. Always get the insurance for piece of mind. It was the best $49.00 we spent:):).

sjn911 Posted March 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) Sorry to hear that you had to cancel, and so glad you had insurance. Hope your friend gets better soon so you can rebook another! So sorry and good luck on the next booking and your friend's health. Just read Cosmo's story...now at 55 and working on weight and health with no pussy footing around it...I say for the health issues that can pop up ON a cruise...even more than saving the cruise..insurance is just beyond a blessing....and you are never too young or old or rich to need it...Godspeed on your next plans and do something nice for you..I know about delaying travel wishes and needs...Sarah Edited March 12, 2015 by sjn911

10Jan54 Posted March 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2015 We were all set and on our way to the city where we were to fly out of and I had to take my husband to the hospital becasue he was in Afib. Doctors said no trip! First time ever we had to cancel and yes the first time ever I had insurance. I got it this time because of the bitter cold we have had here in upstate NY. We should be in Belize today but it's better to have my husband healthy and after he has surgery on the 27th we will be planning another cruise. Good Luck!!:D Hopefully, if you ever do get burned for not having insurance, its just to cancel a cruise and not a medical emergency where you have to be airlifted off the ship as that can cost up to 20,000 and is normally not covered by health insurance policies.
