Our Day with Godfrey Tours

We used Godfrey Tours when we were at St. Thomas on Tuesday, Feb. 24, off the Carnival Glory which was in port 10-6 ship's time. (11-7 St. Thomas time) Godfrey picked us at 11:00 ship's time. There were about 20 of us in his open air taxi, mostly all were off the Glory.

We spent about 1 hour at the crafters' market shopping, then headed up to Mountain Top, with picture stops along the way. The views were nice and the banana daquari was good (included in Godfrey's price of $35 per person). My favorite stop on the tour was the Botanical Gardens. Not nearly as crowded as Mountain Top, had great views, you could do a short hike, and rum punch was included.

After the 2 hour tour, we could then choose whether we wanted to go to Magen's Bay or Coki Beach. About half the tour group chose Magen's Bay for the extra $4/person entrance fee) and were dropped off first.

That left 10 of us still in the open air taxi. Four of us actually stayed at Coki Beach as we all wanted to snorkel. The other six chose the option of a 10 minutes at the beach and then they went back to the ship. At Coki, Godfrey took us up and introduced us to some people at the beach who would help us out (get food, drinks, chairs, etc.) The four of us all rented chairs for $5 each and bought some beverages- I think beers were $3. The other couple also rented snorkel gear and got some food. Even though there were 5 ships in port that day, it was 2:30 ship's time (3:30 local) when we arrived, so it wasn't crowded at all! We enjoyed the beach and snorkeled for 2 hours, and then met Godfrey in the parking lot at 4:30/5:30 (right on time). He had already picked up the people from Magen's Bay, so we grabbed vacant seats. There were also two people at the beach who were looking for a taxi back to the port, so Godfrey offered to take them back along with us (he charged them $9/person; had read taxis were $10 pp, so a decent rate). We arrived back at the ship at 5:00, so had a little time before our 5:30 boarding time.

We had a great day, and would highly recommend Godfrey Tours! It was definitely worth the price of $35/person (+ tips of course).

Thanks for posting your experience!

I just booked Godfrey Tours a few weeks ago for my cruise in May. We were considering doing Coki beach as well. Very glad to hear how much you liked the tour!! Sounds like chairs and drinks there are relatively cheap as well.
