Cheaper Internet

Recommended Posts

I have a 24 day Mediterranean cruise coming up and hate the thought of paying $25/hour for slow internet. I know I can buy a data SIM card that will cover me, but will I have any kind of connection outside of the ports? I also know I can get free internet in the ports, but I don't wan't to waste my port time on my tablet. Advice is needed!

The only internet connection away from shore is the one that your cruise ship provides. Depending on what ship you're on, some are implementing faster internet (not necessarily cheaper though...) Even if you have a data SIM card, you're still not going to have cell towers in the middle of the ocean. You'll only have ship's Cellular@Sea signal, which is unlikely to be covered by any prepaid data roaming plan and is never cheap.
