MikeInPgh Posted September 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2005 In reading through the description of the excursions for Nassau my wife spotted the disclaimer that you should be will and able to walk up to a 1/2 mile to reach the buses and starting point for the excursions. Any one with first hand experience on this? How far is it really?
Islandbuoy Posted September 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2005 It's the length of the ship, then around a corner (220 yds) then a little bit, probably 1/4 mile in total
JimVrhovac Posted September 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2005 If you have a mobility problem they will get you transport out to the area where you will get to the transport. Suggest you bring a wheelchair with you if possible. Airlines will transport it for free. If not go to the front desk and talk to them and they may lend you one. They are not required to give you wheelchair for port use. When we were in Alaska Ruth had some real problems and I went to the front desk and they let us use one in every port. Ruth uses her wheelchair or pushes it as a walker, and then fills it up like a shopping cart. Very versatile piece of equipment.... Grumpy1 Posted September 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2005 There are, if I recall, berths for 5 ships side by side. If you get the berth closest to the wharf, it's a pretty short walk. If you get the furtherest one out, (as we did last year) it's a long hike.
