ALS1214 Posted March 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2015 I was wondering if anyone has gotten a cruise certificate from a casino and was allowed to book a cruise past the the "sail by" date. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
chrisaf Posted March 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2015 If you have cruised with CAS before and have a history with NCL - in most cases, you can call CAS directly and find out what is available for the timeframe you are looking for and in most cases, its equally as good, or sometimes better than using the casino cruise certificate. Rare chasinraynbowz Posted March 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2015 I have used 2 of the certificates and while on the phone, both times the agent checked the dates. So to answer your question, I would have to say probably not.
BearClaw28 Posted March 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2015 I'm going on a cruise next week through CAS and I didn't have a certificate for it. I kinda just called CAS and asked them if they would comp the cruise I had in mind. Has to be at least a 7 day cruise though. They want your business so they'll work with you. redfantum Posted March 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2015 Actually, I called CAS and just asked what they could do for me for the ship and dates I wanted. Got comped a balcony on a 4 day Sky. So does not have to be a 7 day if they know your history.

bbryan5 Posted March 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2015 The cruise certs are nice, but I've found not necessary. I'm diamond in AC, and get them often. When I book a cruise with CAS I just call, and ask what they can do for me. On my last 3 cruises, they have comp'ed me an inside, and I usually just pay a couple hundred more to upgrade to a balcony. Thanks, now I know I can call. I am diamond also and have gotten 3 certs for insides. I have taken them up on 2 of them, but not the third. The first one we sailed with an inside because all OVs and Balconies were booked. We will be going to Alaska in August and have upgraded to a balcony. It's more than a couple hundred, but for us it was worth it.
ALS1214 Posted March 16, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I asked and they said they could not extend the date. I am relatively new to cruising, but have booked 2 upcoming cruises through land based casino. Is there a CAS number other than than the one NCL provides? I may ask about Apri and see if they can get a comp I can then upgrade to balcony. Can't hurt to ask.

redfantum Posted March 16, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Did you have a certificate from the casino? Or did you just call? Just called. My first two cruises were off certificates. Last one just called and was comped an inside on the Getaway. Next one the balcony on the Sky. I also have never been above Lucky. Thing is, after 3 cruises they pretty much know how much time a day I spend in the casino AND I choose a non-peak time to sail, so I'm sure I get a better deal. antsnanny Posted March 16, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I always call CAS at the end of my cruise. Here's why. I got a free cruise from a casino in Pennsylvania and when I called to book it they told me I missed a free cruise from CAS but I never knew I had it. What happened is I cruised in Oct and earned a free cruise through CAS (this is the one I didn't know about) I then cruised in February and didn't gamble as much are I did in Oct so it brought my average down and I lost the free cruise I never knew I had.
