Time for Stingrays and rent a car?

We are taking our first cruise in mid December and the ship is at Grand Cayman from 9-5. All the threads about Rum Point sound great, and so do the Stingrays. I was thinking of booking the Stingray excursion thru the cruiseline simply because we'd get off the ship first or at least sooner. Then after the Stingrays I figure we'd get done around noon. Is there still time to rent a car and get to Rum Point and get back for the last tender? If the ship says it's there until 5pm, approximately what time is the last tender? Please help out this newbie cruiser. Thanks!:o
