sho Posted March 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2015 I am planning a South American cruise and would like to visit Torres del Paine. However Torres del Paine is a long distance from the coast, the nearest port is Punta Arenas. Any cruise lines offer cruise-organised excursion to Torres del Paine? J-D Posted March 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Princess offer an (expensive) fly-in day trip from Punta Arenas: http://www.princess.com/excursion/exDetails.do?t=S&exType=S&tourCode=PUQ-155 I have seen at least one favourable review of this tour on CC sometime within the past couple of years. Not at all the same thing, but if your itinerary includes "scenic cruising" in the Chilean Fjords and visits the Amalia Glacier, and if you are fortunate enough to be there on a clear day, the mountain peaks in Torres del Paine are visible in the distance, far to the east. Bring binoculars and a good telephoto lens! John Edited March 22, 2015 by J-D
lindaa Posted April 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2015 Holland America also offers an excursion to Torres del Paines. Be forewarned that the weather can be bad in Punta Arenas. The winds were so bad on our recent cruise we were unable to even tender into the port.
