How to Avoid Seeing Each Other Before the Ceremony?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to think about how to avoid seeing the groom before the wedding. We are having an embarkation ceremony and will be arriving separately since we live locally. I'm wondering if I could be sequestered from him and the guests prior to boarding.

What are you going to do or how did you handle it?

I am concerned about this, too. I really don't see any way around it. I would prefer to make an entrance and not have my guests see me with my hair and make-up done before the ceremony, as well.

I believe that I am going to just give up on it and after my hair and make-up is done at the hotel, we will do a first look moment with each other and be on our way.

I would love it if they would just have a separate little room or even use some pipe and drape to keep us brides in a private area.

I am going to speak to my coordinator. I plan on bringing a foldable garment rack. I was thinking today that I could place it in front of me to shield me. I could walk onboard before everyone else and go to my cabin. I'll keep thinking.

We did a ships tour and our coordinator said that they will escort the bride to the cabin and she will remain there until the ceremony.

The groomsmen won't have a room of their own, but we were told you can request to have a second room available and they will often be able to accommodate you, if you have others in your party cruising.

I don't think it's possible to avoid seeing each other prior to boarding as you have to board as a group.

If you haven't, and you can easily make the trip, I suggest calling the wedding department and arranging a ship tour on a day there is a wedding. We were able to meet our coordinators then and discussed quite a few details.

I had an embarkation wedding just two weeks ago out of Ft Lauderdale. I had informed my coordinator beforehand that I wanted to remain seperate from him. The onboard coordinator will be a different person, but she knew my wishes and did a great job at keeping me seperated. We didn't see eachother until I walked down that "glorious" aisle.

We didn't care if we saw each other, but I do remember NCL's wedding info saying they would try to keep you separate but couldn't guarantee it. We were able to request access to a second room so there was a room for me/MOH/flower girl to get dressed in (it was my MOH's room) and DH and best man got dressed in our room.

This is what I was hoping to see! I knew that they could figure it out...let's hope the Port Canaveral team will be as accommodating!!
