The last one I bought I was given the option of the $100 obc or $125 in casino play. I took the casino free play so mine was actualy only cost me $125.

Yup, we do this too....actually won about $80 on the $125, so net net, not too much out of pocket for ours!

I've never cruised before - booked for May (PIF) and put a deposit ($500) on another cruise for later this year. While on my first cruise, can I purchase a cruise reward ($150 charge for $250 credit) to be used to make a payment on my second cruise? Or no since the deposit is already paid?

I guess I'm wondering if a cruise reward can only be used as a deposit?

It is to be used as a deposit on a new cruise.

Can only be used as deposit on a newly booked cruise.

Thank you for mentioning this. I've seen this offer in the past and was curious what form the $125 comes in. I'm sure they don't just hand you cash. Is it just promotional slot play like the old slot play coupons and whereby all $125 must be put through the machines in whatever increments and cash out only the winnings? What if you want to use this $125 at the tables?

I guess what I'm really asking is there any way to turn this $125 into cash in hand (even minus 3%) other than betting it and cashing out the winnings?

For each cruise credit you buy ($250), the charge shows on your final statement along with a $100 credit. So you basically pay $150 for the cruise credit.

You do not have to pick a sail date until you're ready, but it does expire after 4 years so the loss is $150. No catches that I know of. Ours are just listed in our account online at NCL.com.

I don't know about auto OBC for 2nd cruise. We didn't get any and we are lattitudes members. I think it has to be part of a promotion (Latitude Insiders?).

If you know you are cruising again within 4 years, it's a great deal! Some have said that it can be used as your total deposit for a cruise you book. If your normal deposit would be $500-$????, if you use a cruise reward, that is all you have to put down -just the cruise reward. (The balance due is still total minus the $250). Didn't happen for us but my TA said she "never used these before" so we paid $750 cash and $250 cruise reward on a $1000 deposit.

The $250.00 must be used within 4 years. I think it is a good bargain. I get the $100.00 OBC to use in the spa or for drinks or apply towards an excursion. I then get the full $250.00 as my full deposit on another cruise:) NCL has the information on their records and we keep a copy of the certificate. We generally buy one on each cruise.

And they are transferrable to anyone without any restrictions.

or sell it even. I sold mine on ebay for $175 so I came out $25 ahead. We also bought one and transferred it to our daughter as a birthday present.
