Carnival Glory - Honeymoon Cruise

My daughter is getting married May of 2016 and they will be sailing on the Carnival Glory (Exotic Eastern Caribbean itinerary) for their honeymoon. The ports of call are: Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. I have 12 cruises under my belt (I know...just a baby!) but I have no experiences with either this ship or these ports. With the bride and groom tied up with wedding planning, I am taking on the task of getting as much info as I can. You folks have come through for me in the past so I am putting out an SOS!! I know it's early but they are trying to determine their budget while on board. They are looking at shore excursions, etc. The two things they really want to do are horseback riding and ATV's. Other than that they are open to any and all suggestions. Oh yeah, she is a "seasoned" cruiser (8, but she is only 22 so many of those were when she was very young), while he is a newbie. Thank you for any suggestions on cabin selections (Balcony) and port activities.

We've been on the Glory twice and sailed 9 other Carnival ships. The Conquest class are the favorites Book a Lido Deck balcony cabin, port side. Do it if only for the view when the ship docks at Grand Turk.

Here are the photos from both trips:

Canada Route:

Eastern Route:

In St Thomas we went on the snorkel and small boat tour. As long as you are a decent swimmer the chance to see marine life like turtles and fish is amazing. It is a little rough ride across the bay, but worth every bit of the cost.

Book a cabana at Half Moon Cay the first day you can. When you get aboard the ship go reserve the number you want. Look for one in the 9-12 range. We loved it.

In San Juan do a walking tour on your own of Old San Juan. Very fun, great food and super people watching!

More later!

We did this exact cruise on 10/4/2014. Loved the ports. We rented a villa at HMC which was awesome, and beached it at the rest of the ports (minus San Juan which was a shopping day). They will have a blast!

We did the Glory for our Honeymoon Cruise in 2013, (Nassau instead of HMC) and loved it. My wife did a review that is in my signature if you want to see what we did.

We didn't do many excursions, as I am the type that likes to plan my own stuff. Congrats to your daughter!
