Hotel in Civitavecchia

We stayed at the Hotel Traghetto. :) :)Our room, with a double and 2 twin beds, overlooked a little park and we could see the ship from the balcony. Breakfast was included. Great little pizza shop next door.

When we were there (spring 2014), the shuttle to the port was a two minute walk from the hotel. This was supposed to be a temporary location so it may have changed.

The manager was really helpful in recommending restaurants and sights to see. We were lucky in that it was a special day when we were there. There was a parade though the town, honouring the patron saint.

When my wife and I cruised the Med in 2012 we stayed at the Miramare for one night pre-cruise. It was nice enough. The location was great. And, as sotiris mentioned, there was, indeed, a wonderful pizza place, very popular with the locals, apparently, amongst the hotels in that location.

We enjoyed the cruise so much that the following year we did it again, this time with our two adult children. We stayed one night pre-cruise at the San Giorgio hotel in Civitavecchia. Stayed there 'cuz the Miramare was booked up. The San Giorgio was a little pricier but it was nice, too. We had an interesting room where one of the beds was upstairs, like in a loft. This hotel was about a 2-minute walk from where we had stayed before at the Miramare.

We all enjoyed the waterfront, the shopping and the town in general. Probably because we were in a good mood 'cuz we were GOIN' CRUIZIN! :D

Enjoy your cruise!
