El born area hotel vs las ramblas

We are staying one night in Barcelona pre cruise arriving to the hotel about 6 p.m. on a Sunday.Have been to Barcelona before.

Are looking at 2 hotels, one on Las rambles and the other in El born. Would prefer the El born hotel but wonder if it is lively enough. .How is that location.? Will there be a lot of restaurants in the area.? Thanks

MANY bars and restaurants in the El Born area in all price ranges.

The two locations are only about 15 minutes walk away from one another?

I stayed in the dl born area...loved it!! More of the cobblestone alley feeling. Lots of alleyway restaurants, tapa bars.
