liquorstore Posted April 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2015 If the hold is not an issue, is it easier to use debit or cash for onboard account? How would debit work in casino?
thabyrdman Posted April 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Well charges add up fast if you use cash you will only be able to charge too how much money is in the account. You can add more money to it if you run out.....but at least you know what you've spent...if that makes sense if you use debit you wont see the charges till the last day of sail and no debit doesn't work in casino. Hope this helps... Edited April 5, 2015 by thabyrdman
ASchaff Posted April 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2015 I have always used my debit card for my S&S account, and cash in the casino. It is easier for me to keep track of my spending in the casino that way.

We found this helps us track our spending.
reerun25 Posted April 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2015 I always purchase some cruise cash in advance, then just use my debit card, I have never had an issue...

dioxide45 Posted April 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2015 If the hold is not an issue, then just use a debit card. More convenient and more secure than carrying cash. Though a debit card doesn't always afford you the same protections that a credit card does. Credit card would be the best way to go overall. ASchaff Posted April 5, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2015 You also can check it on your tv in your stateroom. I have always found that to be less accurate and don't trust it. It has a delay in the posting of purchases.
dioxide45 Posted April 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2015 I have always found that to be less accurate and don't trust it. It has a delay in the posting of purchases. It doesn't always post OBC that you have earned until toward the end of the cruise. Other than going to the pursers desk, it is the best tool to use to track purchases
