Carnival Triumph...Empress deck near back or Verandah near middle?

We have an option to upgrade our booking. We currently are on the Empress deck room 7389 which is the last cabin before aft. The upgrade would be to the Verandah deck..room 8304. My guess is it's about 20 rooms closer to midship than our current room. The upgrade would include $50 onboard credit. The price stays the same. My only concern is I have heard the Verandah can be nosy from the lido deck above? But might be worth the OBC?

 

This is our first cruise so...any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Check the deck plans on Carnival.com. For less noise from above and below your cabin, make sure there is another cabin above and below yours--or at least areas on those decks where there will be less noise, especially overnight.

Was just told the OBC is only $30 unless you have a new booking :( I know it isn't that big of difference but think I might keep our original room then. I thought the price protection matched any offers but guess not. Thanks again for the advice.
