Single_dreamer Posted April 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2015 I'm trying to book my first visit to St. John and I'm selecting a cruise sponsored tour. I prefer a fully escorted tour since it's my first time visiting the island. What shouldn't I miss? Any suggestions? There is the SJ Island Tour - Explore St. John National Park on a large comfortable boat known as the "Emerald of the Caribbean." Board an open-air safari bus for a scenic drive around St. John, viewing beaches and stunning views of the BVI. And there is this one SJ National Park Island & national Park beaches. Does not seem that there will be any beach time on this one. Take a scenic coastal ferry ride along St. Thomas' south shore, passing villas, hidden coves, and beautiful seascapes. Pass by famous Caneel Bay Resort, Hawksnest Beach, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Beach, Maho Bay, and visit Annaberg Plantation. Explore Mongoose Junction, Wharfside Village, and the National Park headquarters.

Our guide told us beach time is dependent how fast the group travels. he said bea ch time varies between 5 minutes to 30 minutes. we were lucky to have the latter. iThe beautiful hike I'd the focus not the beachtime
ciera123 Posted April 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) We love St John, such a gorgeous island. We have taken the Champagne Catamaran excursion 3 times now, and it's wonderful. You board a catamaran and cruise over to Honeymoon Beach. You can swim into the beach, snorkel from the cat, or be taken in a dingy to the beach. You have about 1.5 hours to swim and snorkel, or just relax on the beach. We always see turtles, rays, and lots of fish. They put up the sails for the ride back, and point out landmarks as you sail by. The crew is so good!!! They serve drinks and cheeses, fruits and bread on the sail back. This has been one of our most favorites excursions, ever!:) Edited April 10, 2015 by ciera123
OCruisers Posted April 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2015 We're also fans of the Champagne Catamaran ... but you don't really see any of St. John except for the beach. LuLu
