Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in Tampa that's not far from the port? Something clean, but not overpriced?

If you like boutique hotels and a non-cookie cutter experience, try the Don Vicente Historic Inn and Hotel in downtown Ybor City. Ybor City is the latin section of downtown Tampa that's gone through a thorough gentrification.

I would try the Wyndham Harbour Island Hotel. It is really close to the pier and it is a beautiful hotel. Close to a lot of really fun stuff. I would personally shy away from Ybor as it can get VERY rough at night. Just my thoughts I lived in Tampa for the last few years. :rolleyes:

Thanks for the tips. We have a big crowd coming with us, so finding a safe area is a must.

What have you heard about the Hyatt Regency Tampa? I know it is not as nice as the Grand but closer to the cruise ship is that correct? Any feedback would be appreciated.
