My wife and I have 29 days cruising on royal. I know you move up to platinum after 30. Do I have to wait until the next cruise to actually get the status or do I become platinum half way through the cruise or am I automatically moved up to platinum for this cruise because our 30 day happens while on this cruise?

You won't get any recognition until you've completed your next cruise. However, have you thought of booking a 'quick' 3 or 4 day cruise to take you onto the platinum level? Some of them can be very cost effective as a short break, especially in an interior stateroom and the discounts available as a platinum when booking a subsequent cruise could help offset the cost of the short break. Just a thought ...
