exhaustedmum24 Posted April 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2015 We are booked on a cruise in August and have my time dining. I think we will not bother with reservations, unless we need it to fit in with a show. My question is when do you find out what the main dining room menu is for that night. There will be some menu's I definately want to have and others that we may not be as bothered about and so may think about a speciality restaurant (but I know these need booking in advance) so how do you sort this out? Also please could anyone post the link to the printable deckplans for Explorer after the refit, I feel sure I've seen this somewhere but can't find it now. Thanks,
Clarea Posted April 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Royal does not publish the menu order in the dining room. You can either wait until you get onboard to make specialty restaurant reservations, or look for someone to post the menu order somewhere on CC, once Explorer is sailing the itinerary in which you are interested. Clarea Posted April 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Thank you, do you find out before you actually sit down to eat? The MDR will show a menu outside the entrance well before dinner time. I believe the menu may also show up on the digital wayfinders near the elevator lobbies. You can also go to a specialty restaurant and they can show you the MDR menus for the entire cruise. exhaustedmum24 Posted April 21, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Thank you, that's great, didn't want to turn up and there would be one of the children that didn't like what was on offer.

There is also an everyday kids menu in the MDR: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=45620154#post45620154

Clarea Posted April 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 21, 2015 May be a silly question, but can adults order off the children's menu if they want? Yes, no problem. We order the kids Brownie Madness dessert at least once per cruise.
