Seattle hotel/precruise from Vancouver

10 of us will be staying in Seattle precruise (June 2006) although our cruise will leave from Vancouver the next day. We want a reasonably priced hotel and are wondering what is near the Amtrak station or Pike's Market? Any suggestions otherwise? Has anyone used Priceline or Hotwire to book a hotel in Seattle lately? What about renting a car in Seattle for the day too?

I found the Holiday Inn Express City Center on Hotwire for $71 - any comments good or bad about this motel?

We stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn in Lake Union recently and loved the hotel. They offer a shuttle service to Pike's Market and the Space Needle. They would probably take you to the Amtrak station as well.
