highcard Posted April 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2015 My 16 year old is going on a cruise with a friend and her mother. Does anyone know if she can put down a credit card (it's in her name) for her own expenses or will she need cash? I want to get the double points on the carnival card. I tried to do it online but because she is under 18 it won't let me.
tea4ular Posted April 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2015 If the card is in her name there should be no problem. Do make sure to contact the credit card compny before she leaves letting them know she will be traveling so they don't lock the card for security reasons. happy cruzin Posted April 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2015 I see no reason that card - in her name - would even get a second look. I assume this is a card that she's used in the past - but if not I would make sure to complete a purchase prior to her board - just so that it's not a brand new card. As already stated - I would also make sure the credit card knows that she will be traveling so the to do block her using the card.
beastbeason Posted April 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) There is a form that prints when you print the cruise documents that gives permission for someone to use your card. If they don't have it carnival will not let her use it. I did it for my son back in Dec. you may have to like the card to the sign and sail account for the form to print.
