4g mobile wifi

Recommended Posts

I have a mobile wifi dongle. when I get to America I can put a U.S. SIM card in it while I'm in Orlando. Does anyone know if these work on the ship or if you have to use the ships wifi. Thanks

They will work on the ship but it really won't be cheap, you would be better off with a ship plan as you'd know the exact cost up front.

Keep in mind that 4G is a cellular signal and not WiFi . 4G isn't supported on cruise ships . You can use WiFi on the ships (paid service) and in many hotels without using you 4G dongle or air-card (north American term).

Before I retired I had a 4G air-card from work and used all over Canada and the US. Used WiFi where possible in hotels and 4G only if no WiFi was available or too expensive.

Also to note, depending on what country you purchased your dongle and how, it may not work with a U.S. SIM card, and even if it works with the SIM it might not be compatible with US 4G as the standards are different across the world
