jennifer1t Posted April 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2015 I hate to sound like a cheap-o (ok I don't really care if I do [emoji13]) but I was wondering if anyone knew of any "secret" freebies on the dream. For example- I've read that if you book the steakhouse on the first night you get a free bottle of wine. Anyone know of anything else? Cruising on the Dream for our anniversary on December 13 [emoji2] TIA

sjcruiser Posted April 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Liquor Tastings occur on just about every cruise. The playing cards from GS, and pens are available in your stateroom. I don't know if they still do it, but if you buy a Carnival Classic Drink (long island ice tea, mojito, margarita, the cruiser, royal flush, pina colada, etc. I think), you can take the receipt to the casino and get $5.00 to play roulette, or another table game. BigB0882 Posted April 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2015 They no longer do match play in the casino. I heard it would be coming back but not sure when.

I think they have done away with the free play. Waiting to hear if I can use the $100 worth of free play I brought home from the Sunshine in February. Hoping I can use them on the Valor in 8 days...[emoji456][emoji456][emoji620][emoji620][emoji453][emoji453]

ScottsSweetie Posted April 29, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2015 I've never gotten one on any ship, and I'm sure someone will be along to correct me or confirm, but I believe that you can get a free lanyard in the casino area upon embarkation. PinaCarada Posted April 29, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2015 On my past two cruises, they've given away complimentary vouchers to play either the Cash Cube or Casino Vault machines in the casino. It was advertised in the FunTimes and was limited to a specific time and day (i.e. from 6 p.m.-midnight on a port day), but if you go to the casino cashier and are over 18, you will get a free voucher to play either of the games once. Both machines are definitely on the Dream, and probably most (if not all) of the other ships. If I remember correctly, you have a chance to win up to $2500 in cash or prizes like an iPad. They are both games of timing that involve pressing a button at the exact moment to "unlock" your prize. Someone else may be able to describe them better. :p
Velvetwater Posted April 29, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) If you formal night turns in Captain's formal night there will be free drinks most likely. Also, if you go to a Steakhouse food demo you get to taste samples after...now I know free food on a cruise is nothing special but as it is the steakhouse you get a freebie trial of the food there instead of paying. Trivia/shows on main stage may get you a trophy and a bottle of sparkling wine if you win and main shows often give you them just for taking part. If you go to a shopping talk the shopping manager person throws freebies into the audience so sit near the front (not been personally but saw on my cabin TV). arpie05 Posted April 30, 2015 #12 Share Posted April 30, 2015 If you are in a spa cabin. The free shampoo and conditioner are Eremis and there is a relaxation room for spa guests only that has flavored water and hot tea. It's a lounge area. The robe you borrow onboard is nicer and they have a nice spa area. There is food served in the Serenity area at lunch on sea days. And the lunch menu on sea days is good. Their Vacation Sundae is one of my favorite desserts. I've requested at dinner. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Hawaiifrank Posted April 30, 2015 #14 Share Posted April 30, 2015 This actually applies to all ships, at least for CCL and RCCL: the use of Internet time and the PCs in the computer center are free to view carnival.com and royalcaribbean.com on their respective ships. No account or log in necessary. It's great when you're looking for that next bargain cruise to book at the loyalty desk.
